Refund & Cancellation Policy
Effective date: 4 July 2026 Last updated: 4 July 2026
This is the English-language version, which is the authoritative version.
This Refund & Cancellation Policy sets out the terms that will apply to paid plans on
Open Tools at open-tools.app (the "Service"), operated by NM Technology Services &
Solutions (Grupo NMTSS), NUIT 112059725, once paid plans become available. It
supplements the Terms of Service, §Subscriptions and billing.
1. Free today — no charges yet
Open Tools is currently entirely free. There is no way to purchase a plan today, and no payments are processed. Because no paid plans are sold yet, no charges and no refunds arise at this time. The terms below describe the approach that will apply when paid plans become available.
2. Paid plans (coming soon)
Paid plans are coming soon and are not yet available. When they launch, they are planned to be billed monthly in US dollars (USD) through PayPal Subscriptions. The following ladder is illustrative and planned only — plan names, prices, and perks may change before launch, and the final details will be published at that time:
| Plan (planned) | Indicative price (USD/month) | Highlights (planned) |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Current free tier |
| Paid tier(s) | Announced at launch | Removes ads; higher usage limits and retention; QR-site Premium |
When live, subscriptions will auto-renew at the end of each billing period until you cancel. Payment will be processed by PayPal; we will not see or store your card or bank details.
3. Cancellation (when paid plans launch)
Once paid plans are available, you will be able to cancel at any time, from your account settings or through PayPal. Cancellation will take effect at the end of the current paid period — your paid features remain active until then, and you are not billed again afterwards. Deleting your account will also cancel any active subscription (see the Privacy Policy, §Your rights).
4. Refunds (when paid plans launch)
Once charges exist, and except where mandatory consumer law grants you a cooling-off or withdrawal right, fees already paid will be non-refundable, including for partial periods — cancelling part-way through a paid month will not entitle you to a pro-rata refund, but you keep access until the period ends.
Where the law that applies to you grants a cooling-off or right-of-withdrawal (for example, the 14-day right of withdrawal for consumers in the EU/EEA and the UK), that right applies and takes precedence over the paragraph above. When you subscribe, you will be asked to request that your paid features start immediately and to acknowledge that, once they have been fully provided within the withdrawal period, your right to withdraw is lost, as permitted for digital services; until then, you may withdraw within the cooling-off period for a full refund. Contact us at legal@open-tools.app to exercise this right.
We may, at our discretion and without setting a precedent, issue a refund in exceptional cases (for example, a confirmed billing error or a duplicate charge).
5. Price changes (when paid plans launch)
Once plans are priced, we may change plan prices from time to time. Changes will be prospective — they apply to future billing periods, never retroactively — and we will give you prior notice. If you do not accept a new price, you may cancel before it takes effect. Applicable taxes may be added at checkout.
6. Failed payments (when paid plans launch)
Once billing is live, if a renewal payment fails, PayPal may retry it according to its process. If payment cannot be collected, your paid features may be downgraded to the free tier until payment succeeds. Data retention then follows the free-tier schedule in the Data Retention Policy.
7. Effect of downgrade or cancellation on your data (when paid plans launch)
When a paid plan ends (by cancellation, downgrade, or non-payment), the retention periods for your files and job history revert to the free tier. Content that exceeds the free-tier retention window may be deleted under the Data Retention Policy. Export anything you wish to keep before your paid period ends.
8. How to cancel or request a refund
Once paid plans are available:
- Cancel: account settings, or your PayPal account.
- Refund request (where a legal right applies) or billing question: email support@open-tools.app or legal@open-tools.app. We aim to respond within 30 days.
Until then, there is nothing to cancel or refund, but you are welcome to contact us with any question at the addresses above.
9. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date reflects the latest version.
