Acceptable Use Policy
Effective date: 4 July 2026 Last updated: 4 July 2026
This is the English-language version, which is the authoritative version.
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs how you may use Open Tools at open-tools.app
(the "Service"), operated by NM Technology Services & Solutions (Grupo NMTSS), NUIT
112059725. It is incorporated into, and forms part of, the Terms of Service.
By using the Service you agree to this AUP.
Open Tools is a free, shared utility service — PDF, image, and text tools, hash and QR generators, and QR-site publishing. Fair, lawful use keeps it fast and available for everyone.
1. Lawful and authorised content only
You may use the Service only for content you have the right to process. You must not upload, process, generate, or publish content that:
- is unlawful, or that infringes intellectual-property, privacy, or other rights;
- is malware, or is designed to exploit, probe, or damage systems;
- is sexual content involving minors, or any content that exploits or endangers children;
- promotes terrorism, violence, or unlawful harm;
- is defamatory, harassing, or hateful; or
- you are otherwise not authorised to submit or publish.
2. Do not abuse the Service or its limits
You must not:
- circumvent, disable, or attempt to defeat rate limits, usage limits, quotas, or the bot-check (Cloudflare Turnstile);
- use automated means, scripts, or scrapers to overload the Service or exceed the limits of your plan (use the documented API with your own key instead);
- run denial-of-service, flooding, or load-testing activity against the Service;
- probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service, or breach its security or authentication, without our prior written permission;
- access data, accounts, jobs, files, or QR sites that are not yours; or
- reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code, except to the extent the law permits despite this restriction.
3. API keys and accounts
If you generate an API key, keep it secret and use it only within your plan's limits. You are responsible for all activity under your key and account. Do not share, sell, or sublicense your key, and do not use another user's key or account.
4. QR sites and published content
A "QR site" you publish is public. You are responsible for everything you publish, and it must comply with this AUP. Do not use QR sites for phishing, scams, malware distribution, or to impersonate any person or organisation. We may take down a published QR site that violates this AUP or the law.
5. No resale or misrepresentation
Do not resell, rebrand, or commercially redistribute the Service as your own without our written authorisation, and do not misrepresent your relationship with Open Tools.
6. Fair use
The Service is provided on a fair-use basis so that it stays fast and available for everyone. We may apply reasonable technical limits and may throttle or block usage that, in our reasonable judgment, degrades the Service for other users — even if it is not otherwise prohibited above.
7. Enforcement
If you violate this AUP, we may — with or without notice, depending on severity — rate-limit, suspend, or terminate your access, remove or take down content or published QR sites, and, where appropriate, report unlawful activity to the relevant authorities. Serious or repeated violations may result in permanent termination. This is in addition to our rights under the Terms of Service.
8. Reporting abuse
To report content or use that you believe violates this AUP — including an abusive QR site — email legal@open-tools.app or support@open-tools.app with enough detail for us to locate it.
9. Changes
We may update this AUP from time to time. The "Last updated" date reflects the latest version, and continued use of the Service means you accept the updated AUP.
